Though 2020 has been a challenging year for us all, Youth Shakes has kept up a rigorous education program through Zoom, enabling our students to continue their practice in Shakespeare, Poetry, and other classic works such as “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” We believe that now is the most important time to be investing in our young actors creativity and self-confidence.
Our fundraising goal this year is to raise $10,000 in support of our upcoming year of programming. Like most other non-profits, we’ve faced a massive budget deficit this year from our inability to sell tickets and fundraise at our live shows. The generosity of your donations will make it possible for us to continue the robust work that we do, and celebrate our young people’s talents and creativity during this difficult time.
When you donate to Youth Shakes, here’s where the money goes:
$6,500 enables us to pay for our theatre rental for a full week
$4,000 enables us to pay a director for a full production
$1,000 funds a scholarship for our Stage Manager
$500 provides set building materials
$300 funds all materials for an elizabethan gown
$200 funds art supplies for the creations of our original poster artwork
$120 Funds a scholarship for one month of online Shakespeare classes for one student
$60 funds a new copy of Shakespeare’s Complete Works for our library
$20 funds a pair of ballet slippers for a young student
